Recreate your favorite coffee house drink with my easy Chai Tea Mix!
One of my favorite indulgences is a cup of steaming chai tea. I prefer it spicy and not too sweet (Starbucks is my favorite). Although I love classic chai tea, I used to frequent a cafe that served chocolate chai, and that was pretty amazing, too!
I’ve tried making my own chai mix a number of times, and it never tasted quite right. Until I came across a delicious and easy Chai Tea Mix. It’s super simple to make, spicy, and has the perfect amount of sweetness.
Give this easy Chai Tea Mix a try … I think you’ll love it, too!
Easy Chai Tea Mix (adapted from Knitting Nurse)
- 1 14-oz. can fat-free sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cardamom
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
Making a Cup of Chai Tea
Brew a strong cup of tea. I recommend black or green tea, but feel free to experiment and use whatever you prefer. I actually used green tea flavored with blackberry and pomegranate for these pictures (it was all I had on hand), and it was delicious.
Tip: try adding finely chopped dark chocolate to the hot tea to make chocolate chai … yum!
P.S. Isn’t my cutest mug? I get so many questions about it! I bought it years ago from Starbucks, and I kind of live in fear it will break … ha ha. This Cable Knit Coffee Mug is similar.
