This Lemonade Shandy is the perfect summer drink ... light, delicious, and super refreshing!
My husband Joel's best friend moved to London when they were teens. These two guys share a very unique sense of humor and are pretty much joined at the hip (still), so it was a little traumatic for them. Luckily, my husband was able to spend the whole summer in England visiting his friend. Doesn't that sound like the best summer ever?
One of the things he was introduced to in England was the shandy, which is a beer combined with soda or carbonated lemonade. Shandies are low in alcohol, can be purchased ready-made, and are commonly served to kids. Joel served me the drink years later, and it was love at first sip.
Now I don't recommend serving this to children here in the U.S., but if you are looking for a refreshing summer drink, then you've got to try my Lemonade Shandy!
Lemonade Shandy
Once you learn how to make this easy Shandy, you'll want to serve it all summer long.
I like to make shandies with an inexpensive, light-tasting lager or pale ale. My husband brought home Budweiser to make these, and it worked just fine.
Shandies traditionally combine beer with a carbonated beverage, but I prefer to use homemade lemonade.
The result is a fresh-tasting, lemony, low-alcohol cocktail that I could drink all day long. Give it a try! I think you'll love it, too.

Thank you so much! I hope your having an awesome weekend:)
This drink looks delicious and refreshing, except that I have never acquired a taste for beer. Sometimes I wish I could since it's so easily available and sporting events and such. I'm waiting to hear how your "best cake ever" turned out for your husband's birthday over the weekend!
Gina -- On the Daily Express
It's very light, Gina, and doesn't have too much of a beer taste, so you might like it. The best cake ever turned out OK - I did overcook it though;) Totally my fault, so I'll have to try it again!
I didn't know Lemonade Shandy!!!Thanks for sharing:)
You're welcome! I hadn't had one until a few years ago, but it's really delicious and summery:)
