Eco-Friendly Home Decor

Decorating your home in an eco-friendly way doesn’t have to mean rough fabrics and crunchy design. There are so many more options today. Check out my ideas for a cozy, green living room:

  1. Start by painting your walls with Sherwin Williams Harmony in Mount Etna, a no VOC paint formula. This rich color would look great accented with white trim.
  2. Group three of these Bambeco Reclaimed Drum Lid Mirrors over your couch.
  3. West Elm’s Shoji Armoire has clean lines, holds a 40” flatscreen, and is made from sustainable eucalyptus wood.
  4. Green Sofas offer a large variety of styles, and all sofas are constructed from kiln dried, sustainable wood, recycled springs, soy-based foam cushions, and natural fabrics. I like the modern Carol model.
  5. The Gianna Kilim Rug from Pottery Barn is made with recycled yarn. It would add a color punch in both traditional and modern homes.
  6. Pillows from Hammocks & High Tea are made from fabric printed with water-based, no VOC inks. Plus, they are super cute.

Farfalle with Roasted Asparagus, Lemon, and Parmesan – Easy Seasonal Meal, Part 1!

Happy Earth Day! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m lazy, but I still want to do my part when it comes to saving the planet (cue the cheesy music). Instead of investing in a 100% hemp wardrobe, I’m making small changes to be a little more eco friendly.

I’ve found that one of the easiest ways to go green is to carry my own bags when I go shopping. I’ll admit that I forget them at home half of the time, but at least I’m trying!

Another easy way to go green is to cook seasonal meals. I took my bag to the grocery store this past weekend and picked up asparagus and strawberries.

This Farfalle with Roasted Asparagus, Lemon, and Parmesan is what I whipped up!

Hello Friday! Link Roundup: Delicious Chocolate Recipes

This has been a stressful week. I don’t know about you, but I am craving something sweet and comforting.  I’m thinking a little chocolate will do the trick.

These Coconut Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars (try to say that 3 times, fast!) look amazing!

Salted Caramel Brownies from the Pioneer Woman? Must be good!

It sounds like these Pretzel and Butterscotch Chocolate Chip Cookies have that salty-sweet thing going on.

If you are looking for something a little healthier, these Chocolate Chunk Paleo Cookies are delicious and are one of my tried and true recipes from Pinterest.

This Nutella Mug Cake is also one of my tried and true recipes, and it’s super easy. It makes a lot, so you may want to share (or maybe not).

Here’s to a relaxing and peaceful weekend, especially for everyone in Boston and Texas.

It’s Tax day: Treat Yo Self

My taxes are finally done, so I’m channeling Donna and Tom. It’s time to treat yo self!

Are you expecting a refund? Treat yourself to something fun! Here are my top four picks: treat yo self: splurge via www.HelloLittleHome.com

  1. How cute are these Lovely Ribbon Accent Flats?!?
  2. I am in love with this floral pencil skirt from Loft.
  3. The Cupcake Contest Shoulder Bag from ModCloth is too cute! Even the name is adorable.
  4. Feel like really splurging? I’d spend my money on the Lady City Tote from Foley + Corinna.

Not quite so lucky? Yeah, me neither. Even if you didn’t get a refund, you can still treat yourself to a relaxing spa night. treat yo self with a spa night via www.HelloLittleHome.com

  1. Gather some candles, dim the lights, and take a hot bath.
  2. Give yourself a facial. Here are 10 masks you can make at home. I’m going to try the Banana Mask.
  3. A mani/pedi is a must! My favorite color is OPI on Collins Avenue.

Are you doing anything to treat yourself today?
