It’s easy and inexpensive to update a boring room simply by changing the accessories. In the second part of this series, I’m showing you how to create a traditional room with a colorful twist.

Update a Boring Beige Living Room: Updated TraditionalTraditional doesn’t have to be boring. Here’s how to do it right:

  1. Replace the plain white shade with a dark gray satin shade.
  2. Get rid of the pillows that came with your couch and replace them with these vibrant ikat pillows.
  3. This bold overdyed rug has a traditional pattern, but the fresh, colorful pattern is anything but boring.
  4. A warm yellow throw finishes the look and pulls the pillows and rug together.

That’s it. Four easy steps and your living room has an updated traditional look!
