My family lives thousands of miles away from me, mostly in Wisconsin and Florida. So family get togethers are always extra special. And whenever I have visitors, I love to cook something fun, memorable, and delicious!
With my sister and niece visiting recently, I knew that I had to come up with a delicious breakfast idea. My niece Savanna has quite the sweet tooth, so I decided to surprise her with these yummy Breakfast Popsicles. And they were a hit!
You're going to love this tasty breakfast treat! These Ice Pops are a fun twist on a typical fruit, yogurt, and cereal morning meal. They're perfect for kids parties and for hot summer days, but don't be surprised to see the grownups indulging in one, too.
Best of all? These Cereal Popsicles are super easy to make, and they are actually quite wholesome and healthy. No need to tell the kids that though!

Ingredients
These Cereal Popsicles use simple, easy to find ingredients! Here's what you'll need:
- Yogurt - The recipe's creamy texture come from Greek yogurt. I used plain yogurt, but you could do a flavored yogurt (and skip the sweetener), if you prefer.
- Honey - You'll sweeten the yogurt with honey. Maple syrup may be substituted, if you prefer.
- Cereal - Choose your favorite cereal for this recipe! I used Honey Nut Cheerios, but anything goes here (from healthy to not-so-healthy, lol), including Fruit Loops, Trix, Fruity Pebbles, Corn Flakes, Lucky Charms, and more.
- Fruit - You'll also need some fresh fruit. I used strawberries, but other fruit, such as blueberries, mangos, cherries, peaches, pineapple, raspberries, blackberries, etc., will also work.
This recipe is naturally vegetarian! And you can easily alter the ingredients to make it vegan, dairy free, and / or gluten free. Check out my tips in the Variations section below.
You'll Also Need
To make these Ice Pops, you'll also need three small bowls, as well as measuring cups and spoons. And of course, you'll need come popsicle molds. I have these Tovolo Groovy Popsicle Molds (also available in other colors, like blue, yellow, and red), and they work perfectly for this recipe!
How to Make Breakfast Popsicles
These layered Breakfast Cereal Popsicles couldn't be easier to make! You'll find a detailed recipe card below, but here's an overview of the steps:
- Make filling. Divide the yogurt into three bowls. Sweeten with honey, then stir the fruit into one bowl and the cereal into another.
- Fill popsicle molds. Layer in the ingredients, starting with the plain yogurt, then the fruit yogurt, and finally, the cereal yogurt.
- Freeze. Transfer the pops to your freezer, then freeze until solid, about four hours (or overnight).
Okay, time to enjoy your delicious Breakfast Popsicles! Weren't they easy to make?
Tip: If you don't want to bother with layering the ingredients, you can easily simplify the recipe! Mix all the yogurt and honey together in one bowl, then stir in the cereal and fruit. Divide between the popsicles molds, then freeze.
Variations
Have fun customizing these Breakfast Popsicles to your taste! Here are some easy ideas to try:
- Yogurt - I used plain Greek yogurt so I could sweeten it to taste, but flavored yogurts will also work great. Just make sure to leave out the extra sweetener.
- Granola - Swap out the cereal for your favorite granola. They'd be super tasty made with my easy Granola recipe!
- Vegan + Dairy Free - Use your favorite plant based yogurt and vegan cereal. Sweeten the yogurt with maple syrup instead of honey.
- Gluten Free - These pops are gluten free apart from the cereal. Simply substitute your fave GF brand, and of course, always read all labels carefully if you have an allergy.
Storage
Store any uneaten Breakfast Ice Pops in your freezer. They will taste best when eaten within one to two months.
