Banner Supplies
Want to make your own Tissue Paper Tassel Banner? Here's what you'll need:
- tissue paper (I used this ombre tissue paper, but Amazon has lots of other colors, too.)
- scissors
- string to hang the garland
How to Make Tissue Paper Tassels
The tissue paper I used measured 20 x 20-inches. Keep in mind that if your paper is a different size, your tassels will look slightly different than mine.
Start by folding the paper in half.
Next, fold the paper in half vertically (top picture below).
Cut along this fold line, creating two separate pieces of paper.
Set one of these pieces aside for now.
Fold the tissue paper in half again (vertically).
Starting at the bottom (the open end), cut the paper into strips about ½-inch wide.
Stop cutting about 2 inches from the top fold.
Completely unfold the paper. There will be fringe on either side of the tissue paper.
Carefully roll up the tissue paper.
While you roll up the tissue, straighten and untangle the fringe as much as possible.
Once the paper is rolled, twist the unfringed center tightly.
Twist the two ends together, leaving an open loop at the top.
Your tissue paper tassel is complete!
Repeat this process with the remaining tissue paper, then run the string through the open loops at the top of your tassels to create your Tissue Paper Tassel Banner.
This is all much easier to do than it is to explain, I promise!
And how pretty do the finished tassels look?!?
