I look forward to watching the Academy Awards every year. I love checking out the gorgeous gowns and listening to the funny speeches. How about you?

My husband and I always try to watch as many of the nominated movies as possible. One year, we even went to one of those all day movie marathons at a theater. Let's just say my butt hurt for a while after that!

A stack of the printed ballots and two envelopes on a white counter.

The Academy Awards air on February 28 this year, and I definitely have some catching up on movies to do. To get in the spirit, I created this free printable 2016 Oscar Ballot.

A closeup of the ballot template.

The ballot lists all the nominees, and there’s also a My Favorites page for best/worst dressed, funniest speech, and more.

If you’d like to award a prize to the person who selects the most winners, you can assign points for each category. I suggest:

    • Best Picture = 10 points
    • Best Actor/Actress = 5 points
    • Everything else = 2 points

Of course, you can simply print these out, but since I made these free printable 2016 Oscar Ballot with a viewing party in mind, I'm also sharing a fun presentation idea!

Looking for other party games? Make sure to grab these Printable Oscar Bingo Cards, too!

The supplies needed to assemble the ballots on a wood table.

To create this cool presentation, you'll need:

    • free printable 2016 Oscar Ballot (below)
    • cardstock
    • self-healing cutting mat
    • ruler
    • utility knife
    • ¼-inch hole punch
    • 1-inch black satin ribbon
    • A7 half moon enclosures (shimmer gold)

Click the image below for the free printable (anywhere except the Pin Me! button). For best results, print the PDF on cardstock at full size (do not shrink to fit the page).

A thumbnail sized image of the printable ballot.

If you want to keep things simple, you can just print out the ballots and call it a day.

To fit the ballots in the enclosure, you will need to trim the prints down. Start by cutting the pages in half horizontally, then trim ¾-inch from the top, bottom, and side. Use the ruler and utility knife to keep your lines super straight.

The printed ballots, a cutting too, and ruler on a self healing mat.

Next, put your pages in the correct order:

    1. 2016 Oscar Ballot
    2. Best Cinematography
    3. Best Foreign Language Film
    4. Best Short Film
    5. My Favorites

Make sure the pages are neatly stacked, then punch a hole in the center of the page (about ¼-inch from the top edge).

A ballot with a hole punched in the top.

Next, cut a 6-inch piece of ribbon and fold it in half. Slide the two loose ends through the hole from the back.

Pull the two loose ends back through the loop, then pull tight to secure the pages together.

Trim the ends of the ribbon on angle, about 2 to 3 inches from the knot.

A collage showing how to add the ribbon to the ballots.

Slide the ballot into the half moon enclosure (it will be snug), and you are ready to present the envelope to your guests!

The finished ballot in a gold envelope.

I so happy with how these free printable 2016 Oscar Ballots turned out! The enclosure is such a fun way to display them at a party.

Let me know if you use these ballots for your party! #hellolittlehome

I don't know a thing about any of the movies this year, but I sure do love the way you tied the knot and this tutorial!
