    Ingredients

You only need one (maybe two) ingredients to make this tasty puree:

    • Mango - Of course, the not-so-secret ingredient is fresh mango, and any variety will work for this recipe. You can tell if a mango is ripe by giving it a gentle squeeze. It should have a little give if it's ripe, similar to a fresh peach. Frozen mango may also be used. Make sure to defrost it and drain any excess liquid before using.
    • Sweetener (Optional) - Depending on how sweet your mangos are, or what you'll be using the puree for, you can add sweetener if you'd like. I like to use maple syrup, but other sweeteners (such as honey or granulated sugar) may also be used.

This pureed Mango Pulp is naturally vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and dairy free!

    You'll Also Need

You'll need a sharp knife to peel and chop the mango, as well as a food processor or blender to puree it.

    How to Make Mango Puree

This flavorful fruit puree is super straightforward and easy to make! You'll find a detailed recipe card below, but here's an overview of the steps:

    1. Chop mango. Start by peeling and chopping the mango.
    2. Add mango to food processor (or blender). Transfer the mango to your food processor. If you're planning to include sweetener, you can add it now, or you can add it after tasting the puree. Tip: Squeeze the mango pit over your food processor to capture as much juice as possible.
    3. Puree until smooth. Make sure to stop a few times to scrape down your food processor to make sure you get all the little pieces. To thin the puree, add water a little at a time until you get the right consistency. Tip: If your mango is especially fibrous, you can strain the puree in a fine mesh strainer before using, but it usually isn't necessary.

And that's all there is to it ... your Pureed Mango is done and ready to use! Wasn't that simple?

    Variations

This pureed Mango Pulp recipe can be easily customized depending on how you plan to use it. Here are some simple ideas:

    • Sweeter - Make the puree sweeter by blending in maple syrup, honey, granulated or brown sugar, or other sweeteners.
    • Lemon / Lime - If your mango is a little flat tasting, mix in a little fresh lemon or lime juice to perk up its flavor.
    • Salt - A pinch of Kosher salt is another way to make the fresh fruit shine.
    • Spices - Add extra flavor by stirring in fragrant spices, like cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, or nutmeg.
    • Vanilla - Mix in a little vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor.
    • Thinner - Add a little water or some fruit juice to thin it out.
    • Fruit Combo - Blend with other fruits, such as bananas, pineapples, strawberries, and more.

    • Freeze it to make Mango Sorbet.
    • Drizzle over your favorite desserts, like cheesecake or layer cake.
    • Mix it with Greek yogurt to make this layered Mango Parfait.
    • Swirl it into Overnight Oats.
    • Serve over pancakes, waffles, crepes, or Baked Oatmeal.
    • Use it instead of applesauce in baked goods.
    • Add a little extra water to make homemade Mango Juice.
    • Blend with yogurt and few ice cubes to make a tasty smoothie.
    • Turn it into a salad dressing by adding oil and vinegar.
    • Serve over ice cream or Frozen Yogurt.

    • Use it to make these refreshing Mango Mojitos or another fruity cocktail.

Serve the puree as a topping for desserts, like this Panna Cotta!

    Storage

Store any puree that you don't use right away in an airtight container in your refrigerator, where it will stay fresh for about three to four days. You may also freeze it for up to three months. If you use a zip top bag, you can freeze the bags flat (do this on a baking tray) so they take up less room in your freezer.

    Ingredients

    • 1 large mango, peeled and chopped
    • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

    Equipment

    • Food Processor (or Blender)

    Instructions

    • Add chopped mango to a food processor (or blender), along with the maple syrup, if using.
    • Puree mango until smooth, stopping to scrape down sides of bowl, as needed.
    • Use puree immediately or refrigerate (or freeze) until ready to eat. Enjoy!

    Notes

The amount of puree you'll get will vary depending on the size of your mangos. I used one large mango, which weighed 12 ounces (340 grams). This yielded ¾ cup puree, or 6 servings (2 tablespoons each).
You can make this recipe with as many mangos as you would like. Feel free to double, triple, etc.
Puree can be thinned with water, if needed. Do not add too much though, or it will dilute the flavor.
Make sure to read the info before this recipe card for helpful tips, variations, ideas for using the puree, storage tips, and more!
