Ingredients
This easy Strawberry Banana Nut Bread recipe is made with basic ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry! Here's what you'll need:
- Strawberries - Of course, you'll need to find the sweetest strawberries. They are going to add that delicious, sweet berry flavor that's the highlight of this recipe.
- Bananas - You'll also use a couple bananas. For best flavor and texture, make sure they are quite browned and soft.
- Nuts - Chopped nuts add a wonderful crunch. Walnuts or pecans work well, although others may also be used.
- Flour - You'll need some all-purpose flour to create the batter.
- Sugar - This recipe uses granulated sugar.
- Eggs - A couple eggs help bind the other ingredients together.
- Butter - You'll need unsalted butter (at room temperature) for this easy quick bread.
- Leaveners - This recipe uses a combination of baking soda and baking powder to help the bread rise.
- Vanilla - A little vanilla extract adds tons of flavor.
You'll Also Need
You'll use a stand mixer or a hand mixer to blend some of the ingredients, then mix the rest by hand. You'll need a bowl for mixing the dry ingredients together, measuring cups and spoons, a whisk, spatula, and a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan for baking the bread.
How to Make Strawberry Banana Bread
This delicious bread is super easy to make! You'll find a detailed recipe card below, but here's an overview of the steps:
- Combine wet ingredients. Start by creaming the butter and sugar together, using your stand or hand mixer. Then, mix in the eggs and vanilla.
- Whisk together dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Blend wet and dry ingredients. Fold the butter mixture into the flour mixture using a spatula. You want to mix the wet and dry ingredients together until they are just combined. Tip: Do not over mix ... this is the key to success with any quick bread! You should still be able to see a little flour at this point.
- Prep strawberries. Next, you are going to toss the strawberries with a little flour. This keeps the strawberries from adding too much liquid to the batter. And it also helps to keep them from sinking as the strawberry bread is baking.
- Add strawberries, bananas, and nuts to batter. Fold the strawberries, mashed banana (I like to leave it a little chunky), and chopped nuts into the batter ... again, mixing until just combined.
- Bake. Transfer the batter to your loaf pan, smooth out the top, then sprinkle with more nuts. Bake the bread until it's a beautiful, deep golden color and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. It should take about 50 to 60 minutes, but I recommend that you start checking it a little earlier, just in case. Let the bread cool completely before slicing it.
And that's all there is to it ... time to enjoy your delicious Strawberry Banana Bread! Wasn't that easy?
Storage
Cool leftover Banana Strawberry Bread completely, then store in an airtight container at room temperature (or in the refrigerator, if your home is warm) for up to four days. Bread may also be frozen for up to two months.
