Salted Caramel Sauce

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla


  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add brown sugar and cream. Stir until smooth.
  • Simmer over medium-low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Mix in salt and vanilla, then remove from heat.
  • Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!


  • Refrigerate any unused caramel sauce.
  • To reheat caramel sauce: heat for 15 seconds in the microwave, stir, then repeat as needed until hot.
