  • 2 pounds strawberries
  • 16 ounces chocolate
  • 4 ounces white chocolate, optional
  • sprinkles, non pareils, chopped nuts, etc., optional
  1. Wash strawberries well, then blot dry. Place berries on a few layers of paper towels to dry completely and warm to room temperature.

  2. Line at least 2 baking sheets with parchment paper (or foil). Set aside.

  3. When berries are completely dry, chop chocolate.

  4. Place chocolate in a small bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds; then mix well. Continue microwaving at 15 second intervals, stirring very well in between, until chocolate is completely melted. Do not overcook. (If you don't have a microwave, use a double boiler.)

  5. Grasp strawberry by stem or leaves, then dip into chocolate, swirling as necessary to coat berry evenly.

  6. Let excess chocolate drip off, then transfer dipped berry to parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat process with remaining strawberries.

  7. Decorate berries with melted white chocolate and sprinkles / other toppings, if desired.

  8. Let chocolate harden at room temperature (or in fridge for about 30 minutes) before eating.

  9. Serve strawberries the day they are made OR store for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Want to cut the recipe in half? Plan on using 12-ounces chocolate for 1-pound of strawberries. Even though you're using fewer berries, you still need plenty of chocolate, otherwise there won't be enough to cover the strawberries.
