Puree watermelon in blender, then strain through fine mesh strainer. Set aside juice and discard pulp.
Combine sugar and hot water in a pitcher. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
Stir fresh lemon juice into sugar-water. Thinly slice reserved lemon peel, then add to pitcher.
Add watermelon juice and mix well.
Serve immediately over ice or chill until ready to drink. Enjoy!
You'll need about 3 large, juicy lemons to get ¾ cup juice. Lemons really vary in juiciness though, so I recommend purchasing extra lemons just in case.Feel free to strain lemon juice if you would prefer a pulp-free drink.This combination of ingredients makes a perfectly sweet-tart drink, however you are welcome to add more / less sugar to taste.
