Pulse garlic clove in a food processor until minced.
Scrape down sides of food processor, then add black beans, tahini, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, and about ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste).
Blend ingredients together for at least 3 minutes or until totally smooth. As you do, add a little water (or liquid from the canned beans) to thin the hummus out to your desired consistency.
Taste hummus and add additional salt and / or lime juice, if desired.
Transfer to bowl, then serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to eat. Enjoy!
Notes
Read the info before this recipe card for additional tips and tricks!Make this recipe as spicy (or mild) as you like by adding more or less cayenne to taste. You could also replace the cayenne with other peppers, liked canned chipotles, fresh jalapeños, or even your favorite hot sauce (this Secret Aardvark Habanero Hot Sauce is my fave!).Love cilantro? Pulse in a small handful at the very end, leaving some small bits visible.
