Use a vegetable peeler to thinly peel 1 large orange. If there is any white pith on the back of the peel, use a sharp knife to remove as much as possible.
Juice orange, then add the orange juice and peel to a large dutch oven (or other large pot), along with 8 cups apple cider, 4 cups cranberry juice, ¼ cup brown sugar, and 4 cinnamon sticks. Mix well.
Cover dutch oven, then bring mixture just to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to medium-low. Partially cover pot and continue simmering 30 minutes (stirring occasionally), or until the cider is infused with the orange and cinnamon. Remove peel before serving.
Serve hot or warm, garnished with fresh cranberries, if desired. Enjoy!
