Combine ricotta and garlic in a small bowl. Mix well, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
Lightly toast bread using a toaster.
Cut tomato into slices about ¼-inch thick.
Top bread with ricotta mixture, followed by sliced tomatoes.
Sprinkle tomatoes with salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes to taste.

This recipe is sized to make one toast, which is one serving. However you can easily scale it up to feed extra people.
