It's Friday, Friday. Gotta get down on Friday ... remember that song? I never fail to get it stuck in my head every single Friday. I guess there could be worse things!
The beginning of the snowstorm.
My husband and I did a little exploring this week. We walked around the Sunnyside neighborhood in Queens, ate some delicious pizza, and then came home and checked out rent prices on Craigslist (do you ever do that?). Of course, it was much cheaper than our current rent, but we're not moving anytime soon! We also checked out Arthur Avenue in the Bronx (it was a three borough weekend!). Again, we ate some really delicious pizza and to-die-for pastries. Yum!
There was also a big snowstorm this week, and I've been holed up ever since. I'm hoping it warms up a little this weekend, so I can get out and do something fun. It's freezing out there.
Here are a few ideas that I liked this week:
Do you love Indian food and hummus? Then check out From this Kitchen Table's recipe for Indian Layer Dip. It looks delicious.
I'm hoping to get some shelves installed in our living room soon, and these Faux Gold Bookends from A Beautiful Mess would be a great addition.

The best pizza I've had in a long time at Full Moon Pizzeria on Arthur Avenue.
Brighten up your day with these Creamy Lemon Crumb Bars from Annie's Eats.

If you've ever considered going the "no poo" route, then check out Holly's tutorial for Homemade Shampoo and Conditioner.
I am a total quinoa lover, but I've only eaten it in savory dishes. Five Heart Home has a recipe for Quinoa Pudding with Coconut Milk and Maple Syrup that I can't wait to try. She describes it as a cross between rice pudding and tapioca.
Keep your fingers toasty with these cute DIY Hand Warmers from Rae Ann Kelly.

So much snow, and this was just the beginning!

What's on your schedule this weekend? Are you staying in and relaxing or going out and painting the town?
P.S. Follow me on Pinterest to keep up with everything that catches my eye!
Thanks for the mention Ginnie! Hope you had a nice weekend!
You're welcome, Holly! I'm so curious to try this - thanks for sharing!
We can live in Cape Town together! I was surprised they made that an option but it sounded accurate.
Yay! I'm so happy that you will be in Cape Town with me, Anne;) I was surprised, too, but the description definitely fit!
Oh you have made me so hungry with that photo of the pizza and it's still too early for lunch. lol
Ha ha ... I know, right?!? If it wasn't such a trek up to the Bronx, I would be headed back for another slice this weekend:)
That pizza looks incredible! I've never thought of putting broccoli on pizza before. Might have to give that a try sometime. One of my friends moved to NYC last year and she put up pictures from Central Park Thursday and it was beautiful.
I'm honored that you featured the Indian Layer Dip. Thank you so much! I love it.
You're so welcome, Deanna! I'm going to try your dip this week - it will make the perfect healthy snack. The pizza was SO good:) The broccoli was delicious. I think they sauteed it with garlic before baking - yum:)
