    Welcome to Friday!

new nail polish from Duane Reade

I did a little shopping on my lunch break this week and picked up some fun, new polish!

It has been crazy hot and humid here this week, so I'm excited to hang out in my air-conditioned apartment all weekend. Just kidding (well, not really).

In case you haven't noticed, I'm a little finicky when it comes to weather. My husband always jokes that I'm not happy unless it's sunny and 72, which is pretty accurate. Unfortunately, that is pretty rare, especially here in New York!

Anyway, since I will be holed up in my apartment this weekend, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of DIY projects. Here are a few I think you should try:

I love this floral purse DIY - so cute! Now I just need to find the perfect bag to makeover.

This DIY Watermelon Pinata would be perfect for a kids party or any party, really!

I need to find an occasion to make this Strawberry Banana Milkshake Cake. Yum!

These Cappuccino Pops are ridiculously cute and are perfect for that hot day when you have a coffee craving.

View of the Hudson River in Cold Spring New York

We took a trip to Cold Spring, NY, last weekend. It was beautiful there!

Although the instructions aren't in English, you can probably figure out how to make this awesome DIY Neon Cross Pillow if you know how to sew. If you can't sew, then try stamping a ready made pillowcase.

This DIY Chalkboard Canvas is so cool! Give it a try.

If you are looking for a quick project, try making a Chevron Paper Straw Frame. It looks super easy and super cute.

Give your green thumb a workout and plant a Simple Cacti Garden. I love the modern look, and in my experience, it's very hard to kill a cactus (just saying).

Pretty Flowers in Cold Spring, NY

Pretty flowers and a white picket fence in Cold Spring.

Are you heading to the beach this weekend? Make your own Beach Wave Texture Spray.

Here's a great DIY for those Creaseless Hair Ties that are everywhere (and often quite pricey). This is pretty much the definition of a quick and dirty project!

I am obsessed with this Mondo Pom Trim Pillow! I need to make one of these stat!

This Bench Makeover is perfect for that awkward, dated piece of furniture hanging around your home. I'm not sure where a bench would go in my apartment, but now I want one just like this!

Banana bike seat in Cold Spring

How cool is this bike we saw in Cold Spring? It was in mint condition.

Whip together this Patriotic Burlap Table Runner. It's perfect for your 4th of July BBQ, and it's not over-the-top stars-and-stripes, if you know what I mean.

These slightly goofy Patriotic Glitter Animals would make a cute table decoration, too, especially if kids will be attending your 4th of July party. I love the little hats!

I love this Rolled Bun Hairstyle - it's perfect for a hot, humid day. And make sure to check out the rest of this great series - 30 Buns in 30 Days - over at Hair Romance.

    Have a great weekend!

Thanks so much for including me! I'm in Australia and wishing I was back in NYC for the summer like I did last year.
