Call me crazy, but I am so ready for fall.
It has been such a hot, humid, and genuinely uncomfortable summer. Plus, fall is my favorite season, and I haven't been able to enjoy it since I moved to San Francisco (there are no real seasons there).
New York City is full of trees, so I think fall here will be pretty amazing. I'm picturing myself strolling through Central Park and sipping hot chocolate while admiring the colorful leaves ... okay, I may be getting a little carried away here, but you get the picture: I love fall!
Most of my fall obsessions revolve around food and fashion, so I thought it would be fun to do an early fall roundup:
One of my favorite San Francisco restaurants, Park Chow, serves a delicious ginger cake dessert that is perfect for fall weather. This Black Sticky Gingerbread from Gizzi Erskine should be a good approximation. Serve it warm with pumpkin ice cream.
Fall is apple picking time, and The Gunny Sack's Caramel Pecan Apple Bars look like the perfect dessert to make with your harvest. Yum!
When I think fall, I think pumpkin. I'm looking forward to trying a couple new recipes. First up: Pumpkin Cappuccino Chip Muffins - how can you go wrong with pumpkin, coffee, and chocolate? And these Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes look just like mini pumpkin pies.
I've been searching for signs of fall!
You'll love these Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes. I've made this recipe multiple times, and it's always a crowd-pleaser.
I love to go wine tasting on crisp, cool fall days, but without a car, I won't be planning any spur of the moment wine country trips any time soon. Instead, I think I'll get this Let's Go Wine Tasting on the Couch t-shirt and plan a night in with my husband!
I predict that Flat Top restaurant will be a fall favorite with my husband and I.
For more fashion inspiration, check out my fall fashion Pinterest board - I've been pinning like crazy for the past couple of months (told you I was over summer).
What are you looking forward to doing this fall?
Hey Ginnie,
First off, thanks for the link round up, these were super interesting and different. I wanted to let you know I just recently posted about my favorite Paris haute couture looks and where to get the pieces for less and thought it might add some value to your next link round up. Either way, thanks for the great posts!
Best,
Sam

P.S. Would love to hear what you think about the post!
That quinoa sweet potato chili is AMAZING! I make it all the time - kicker is, no one else likes sweet potato in this house (crazy, right). So It's a party of one for that dish!
Happy Fall!

Happy fall, Marta! Lucky you - my husband loves that chili and will eat it all before I get a bowl;)
