What to Wear: 4th of July Outfit

It's hard to believe how fast summer is flying by, but the 4th of July is right around the corner. It's always been one of my favorite holidays. I love spending the day relaxing with friends or heading to the beach ... a cold cocktail in hand, of course!

My plans are still up in the air this year, but I do know that I'll be in Brooklyn kitty-sitting Rodney again. I'm sure we'll end up hanging out with friends who live nearby and hopefully catching the fireworks over the East River, too.

Of course, what I'll wear is on my mind, as well. My ideal 4th of July outfit looks like this:

The 4th of July calls for something festive, but nothing too over-the-top. I'm in love with this navy striped maxi dress. The eye-catching waist-detail would be super flattering on anyone. I'd pair it with a red crossbody bag and flip flops. Voila ... your red, white, and blue are covered!

Give a nod to the holiday with a pair of starburst earrings. These mismatched earrings - one large and one small - are super unique. I'd wear them with a fun lariat-style solstice necklace that can be worn year round. Don't forget your sunnies! I love these retro round tortoise sunglasses from Target, which are currently buy one, get one 50% off, along with all women's clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Swimsuits are so much more fun to window shop for than try on, aren't they? I had a hard time narrowing down all the options, but this striped bikini, ruffled bikini top / bottom, and crochet overlay one-piece are my favorites. Don't forget your flag towel, too!
