This Edgy Glitter Manicure is so fun for special occasions ... or any night out!

Edgy, Glittery Manicure ... Perfect for NYE! | Hello Little Home #NailPolish #NailArt #NYE

My New Year's Eve plans are pretty low key this year, but I still wanted to do something special and maybe a little glittery.

I'd been wracking my brain for ideas, when my co-worker showed off her latest manicure. The dark polish topped with glitter with just what I had in mind, so I had to copy her.

Here's my take on her edgy, glitter manicure that's perfect for New Year's Eve!

Honestly, this manicure could not be easier to do. I love that it's slightly edgy due to the dark polish, and the glitter is all kinds of fun! I was going to call it nail art, but it's just not that complicated.

Want to try this look on your own?

    Edgy Glitter Manicure

Here's what you'll need to create your own glittery manicure.

    • nail file
    • cuticle stick
    • base coat - I love Orly Bonder.
    • Julep Stevie polish (or other dark nail polish)
    • glitter top coat (Sally Hansen Big Glitter Top Coat is similar to what I used.)
    • quick dry top coat - I used Seche Vite, my fave.
    • Sally Hansen No More Mistakes Clean-Up Pen

The key to any successful manicure is a good base to start with, so begin by filing your nails and pushing back your cuticles.

Add your base coat and let dry.

Then add a couple coats of the dark polish. It should be opaque when you are finished.

When your dark polish has dried, go over it with your glitter top coat.

For best results with the glitter, I recommend dipping your brush back in the bottle after each brush stroke. That way, you are picking up and placing lots of glitter on your nails.

Add a second coat of glitter, if necessary, or to get the exact amount of bling you want.

Top the glitter with a quick dry top coat, then go back over your nails with the manicure clean-up pen to fix any mistakes ... perfect!

I told you that was easy ... and so fun, too!

So tell me, where would you wear this edgy manicure?
