Check out how I’m updating my tiny bedroom with art and mirrors!
I finally got around to hanging something in my bedroom. Sure, it’s been two years since I moved into my apartment, but better late than never right?!?
This room has always been a challenge. It’s long and very narrow, and there isn’t enough storage. The area behind the door has served as a dumping ground for all sorts of things (winter accessories, yoga mats, craft supplies, socks, etc.) that don’t have a permanent home.
I’m planning a major purge, but in the meantime, I decided to make some easy bedroom updates!
I started by clearing out that messy corner. The door actually opens all the way now, which makes me (and my husband!) very happy.
Then I hung up my favorite mirror. This mirror was a total thrift score back when I lived in San Francisco, so I was happy to finally find a home for it.
I’m not sure where the mirror originated from. It reminds me of Mexican punched tin though, something I’ve always loved.
On the opposite wall, I hung a painting. This painting originally belonged to my grandparents, so it has lots of meaning for me.
It’s moved around in the apartment quite a bit. Originally, I hung the painting over the fireplace, and next I moved it over the couch.
My husband’s office moved recently, and he brought home a large painting they were getting rid of. The only place it fit was over our sofa, so this painting ended up homeless. I’m so happy to have found a space for it again!
I love having a mirror next to my dresser and jewelry.
It makes getting ready in the morning a little more fun.
The beautiful painting adds a glamorous touch to the space.
The best part of this easy bedroom update?
I already owned these two pieces, so it was free!
I’m making over my bedroom window, too, so come back tomorrow to check out my plans.
Have you made any changes to your home lately?
P.S. Check out part two of my easy bedroom update, the window.
