I've been making a few easy bedroom updates this month. Everything has been done on a tight (i.e., non-existent) budget, using items I already own. Check out my "new" art.
My one purchase was new blinds. I finally got them hung and can't wait to show them off!
I was so excited to finally find affordable blinds that fit my large bedroom window. Once I got the blinds home though, I have to admit that I was a little intimidated by the installation process.
Thankfully, I needn't have worried. The blinds came with clear, step-by-step directions.
My only challenge was due to the window itself, which is wedged into the corner. After a tight squeeze with my screwdriver though, I got the brackets installed, and it was smooth sailing.
Here's are my new blinds ... I'm in love!
Yes, I installed these blinds myself! It's that easy.
Do you remember reading about my shopping trip? I chose to go with Levelor's Custom Size Now Faux Wood Cordless Blinds, which are only available at Lowe's.
They were the perfect choice for my large bedroom window, because the Lowe's associate cut them to my exact dimensions for free while I waited. It seriously took less than five minutes.
The blinds are cordless, and that's definitely my favorite feature.
All you have to do to open and close them is push up or pull down. How cool is that?
Not to mention, with no dangling cords, they're safer for pets and kids. They look better, too. Tangled cords, and the resulting crooked blinds, are the bane of every renter's existence ... no more!
There's also an exclusive Lightmaster feature, which increases privacy and light control and makes the blinds easier to clean. My usual weekend plan to sleep in is now that much easier!
Now that my blinds are installed, I'm planning a few more changes.
These pillows are next.
I'll be keeping most of them, but I'm going to turn an old cashmere sweater into a pillow cover.
My plan is to add a few pom poms once I sew the cover.
I love making easy bedroom updates like this. It's amazing how little changes can have such a huge impact.
How about one more look at my gorgeous new blinds? Did I mention that I installed them myself (ha ha)?
What updates have you made to your home lately?
Beautiful! I love the textiles you've used in this space!
Thank you so much, Sarah!
Such an amazing Transformation. The room all together is beautiful!!
Aww ... thank you! It's amazing the impact a few changes can make!
CORDLESS blinds!!! I realllly want those, I cannot stand all the cords everywhere! The window looks great!
They are THE BEST, Heather! I didn't know how much I needed them until I bought them. 😉
Your room looks so fresh, I love it. I will be checking out the blinds since that is on my to-get-done this year list. Love those pillows...such soft calming colors. Very pretty. Thank you so much for your sweet words and for the invite, Lorelai! I can definitely recommend the blinds. They've really made a huge difference in the room!
They look perfect in the window! Love the room!
Thank you so much!
Isn't it amazing what a few simple changes can do for a room?! Those are great blinds! And, I love the idea of taking an old sweater and turning it into a pillow. Genius!
Love the window with the large blind! This is the first large cordless faux wood blind one I've seen and it's beautiful!
Love the cordless blinds! My kid has two windows in his room and both blinds are jacked up due to cord mishandling. I need to get these. When you say the installation was easy - is it real easy or easy for folk with lots of DIY experience?
They look amazing! Can't wait to see that cashmere sweater pillow cover!
These blinds look great, and I LOVE the curtains! What a gorgeous room!
Still in love with the adorable window in your room and they still look great with your new blinds!
