This rosy eyes and lips makeup tutorial is the perfect way to brighten up your winter look!
We've had such warm weather this year that every time it gets truly cold out, I'm reminded that it's actually winter. Unfortunately, winter is here to stay for a while, so I'm turning to one of my favorite things to brighten my mood: makeup!
This rosy eyes and lips makeup tutorial is so bright and pretty. With it's pink colors, this look is perfect for spring, but I like wearing it even more now as I'm trying to get through winter!
I love experimenting with cosmetics, and on a recent trip to Target, I stopped by the makeup aisle to check out Essence cosmetics. This fun and completely on-trend brand just arrived at over over 500 select Target locations nationwide, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on some!
Check out my haul. I got all of this for under $25, and I couldn't wait to start playing with that gorgeous eye shadow palette the minute I got home!
Here are the Essence products I picked and used for this rosy eyes and lips makeup tutorial:
- The Gel Nail Polish in Indian Summer
- All About Roses Eye Shadow Palette (The inspiration for this look!)
- Kajal Pencil in White
- Get Big Lashes Volume Curl Mascara
- Lipliner in Wish Me a Rose
- Sheer & Shine Lipstick in All About Cupcake
I had to paint my nails with the gorgeous polish first. Indian Summer is the perfect warm weather shade, and I'm envisioning lots of cute pedicures using it once spring arrives.
The All About Roses palette was perfect for the bright, fresh look I was going for.
Start by applying the pale pink shade (lower row, second from left) all over your lids, from lashes to eyebrows.
Next, use a slant tip brush to apply a darker shade in the crease in a v-shape. Blend well.
I used the purplish/brown shade in the bottom row, third from left.
I always apply eyeliner, since it really makes my eyes pop. For this look, I used a dark color from the palette (top row, fourth from left).
I applied the shadow with a slant tip brush in a thin line along my top lashes. Then, I used a thin eyeliner brush to apply the same shadow along my lower lash line. I added some to my waterline, too, for extra pop.
To highlight the eye, I added a touch of pale, sparkly powder to my brow bone (top row, on the left).
I was excited to see that Essence carries Kajal Eye Liner! This type of liner has a wonderful creamy texture that I love. I used the white Kajal Liner on the inner corner of my eyes, then blended it in a bit with my fingers.
A touch of this white eye liner is the perfect way to brighten up your eyes! You could also use on your waterlines on days when your eyes look sleepy.
I finished my eyes with a few coats of Get Big Lashes Mascara in the Volume Curl formula.
Ignore my weird expression in that photo below and check out that big brush instead! It caught every lash and made my eyes seriously pop.
Last step is lips, and I've got a great tip for making your lipstick last. Line your lips with lip liner; I used the Wish Me a Rose shade. Then, fill in your lips with the liner everywhere except the very center.
I love this trick for two reasons. First, if your lipstick wears off, you won't have a weird ring around the outside of your lips (hello, 90's!). Second, leaving the center bare will give your lips dimension.
After applying the lip liner, finish with a coat of Sheer & Shine Lipstick. The shade I used, All About Cupcake, is so pretty, and I loved the sheer, moisturizing formula.
That's it! This rosy eyes and lips makeup tutorial is complete. I love how fresh and pretty it looks.Make sure to check out Essence cosmetics at Target. I can't wait to experiment with more products!
What is your favorite trick for getting through a dreary winter?
I have never tried Essence makeup, I need to check it out the next time I am in Target (which is all the time!).

I am generally makeup incapable so I really enjoyed how you showed us how to recreate this look step by step. I am loving this look for the Winter to Spring transition! #client
Thanks, Jenna! It's definitely doable if you take it step by step. 🙂
