Can you believe that summer is almost over? I'm kind of in denial, although I won't mind the cooler weather ... summer in Texas is hot!
Currently, I'm trying to take advantage of all the fresh fruits and veggies at my local farmers market and grocery store. And one of my favorite ways of using up that produce is in a smoothie.
Smoothies are a great nutrient-rich option for breakfast, after a workout, or any time of day. There are so many ways to make smoothies, too—they can include dairy, fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, all blended in one yummy glass—so they never get boring.
I like to pack as much nutrition as possible into these yummy drinks, so I decided to give the classic strawberry banana yogurt smoothie a green twist! This Strawberry Banana Green Smoothie is so yummy, and if you're looking for the best green smoothie recipe for beginners this is it ... you won't even taste the spinach!
Strawberry Banana Green Smoothie

My Strawberry Banana Spinach Smoothie recipe is super simple to make and so tasty. I think it's the best green smoothie recipe for beginners, too, since the spinach flavor is very mild. It may be green, but it really does taste like a classic strawberry banana smoothie ... with a little extra nutritional oomph!
This green smoothie starts with a nutritious base of creamy yogurt. I love using yogurt in my smoothies, because nutrition is more than counting calories, it's making each calorie count. And dairy does it!
Dairy foods (cow's milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.) pack a powerful nutrient punch with 9 essential nutrients, making them a healthy and delicious choice for smoothies and so much more. They're also packed with protein. At 8 grams of protein per glass, you would have to drink 8 cups of almond milk to match the protein in just 1 cup of cow's milk! Visit to learn more.
This protein-packed green smoothie is the perfect thing to power you through a busy day whether you enjoy it for breakfast on the go or after an intense workout!

This fresh green smoothie recipe couldn't be easier to make. You'll start by layering yogurt, almond butter, strawberries, bananas, and spinach in a blender.
Once you've added your ingredients to the blender, simply puree everything until smooth. Make sure to scrape down the sides a few times and give everything a quick mix or two, if necessary (turning off the blender first, of course).
Keep pureeing until all that's left of the spinach are tiny green flecks. It should only take a few minutes.
