Do you have a boring beige living room? Learn how to give it an Updated Traditional Living Room Makeover!

Boring Beige Living Room

Lamp / Table / Sofa / Pillow / Rug / Throw

Do you have a boring beige living room? I think we’ve all been there!

Usually, I recommend buying neutral furniture, because who wants to make an expensive mistake? But unless you add pattern and color with accessories to that plain furniture, your home will end up looking pretty blah.

The easiest and least expensive way to interest to a boring room is to change the accessories.

In this new series, I’m show you three different options to take your living room from from flat to fresh in four simple steps, in three different decorating styles … Neutral, Modern, and Traditional.

Today, we’re tackling the Traditional Living Room Makeover!

Update a Boring Beige Living Room: Updated Traditional

Traditional Living Room Makeover

Traditional doesn’t have to be boring. Here’s how to do it right:

  1. Replace the plain white shade with a dark gray satin shade.
  2. Get rid of the pillows that came with your couch and replace them with these vibrant ikat pillows.
  3. This bold overdyed rug has a traditional pattern, but the fresh, colorful pattern is anything but boring.
  4. A warm yellow throw finishes the look and pulls the pillows and rug together.

That’s it. Four easy steps and your living room has an updated traditional look!

Next Monday, I’m showing you how to create a Graphic Modern Living Room Makeover. Check it out!
