    Treat yourself to these yummy Watermelon Popsicles! These scrumptious popsicles are simple to prepare, made with fresh fruit, healthy, and super refreshing. They're the perfect summer snack!

    Is there anything better than an ice cold treat on a hot summer day? There's only thing I can think ... a big slice of juicy watermelon!

    If you love popsicles and watermelon (and who doesn't?), then you have to try these amazing Watermelon Popsicles. These sweet, colorful ice pops combine your two hot weather faves in one delicious treat.

    You and your kids are going to love these yummy popsicles! They taste just like fresh watermelon, and according to my six year old niece (who helped me make them), they're good, very good, and (when pressed to be more descriptive) super good. And I have to agree!

    These refreshing fresh fruit popsicles are the ultimate summer treat, and they couldn't be easier to make. Best of all, you only need three ingredients!

    This heavenly treat tastes like summer on a stick ... don't let another day go by without making them!

    Ingredients

    The best thing about making your own real fruit popsicles is that you can control all the ingredients. No fake flavors, zero weird ingredients, and way less sugar. Here's what you'll need:

    • Watermelon - For best results choice the freshest, sweetest, juiciest one you can find.
    • Fresh Lime Juice - A little lime juice brightens the pop's fruity flavor.
    • Sugar - A touch of sugar enhances the watermelon's sweetness. For no sugar pops, leave it out (watermelon is naturally sweet after all), or for sweeter pops, add more.

    These watermelon ice lollies aren't just tasty, they're also healthy. Watermelon is packed with nutrients, and it's almost all water (92%). Which means it's hydrating and low-cal. Plus, they vegan, dairy free, and gluten-free ... so everyone can enjoy them!

    You'll need a blender and a set of popsicle molds to make this recipe. I can't find the molds I used for these pictures, but I also have (and highly recommend) these Tovolo Groovy Pop Molds!

    How to Make Watermelon Popsicles

    This homemade treat couldn't be easier to make. You'll find a detailed recipe below, but here's a quick overview of the steps:

    1. Prep the watermelon. Start by cutting the watermelon into one-inch cubes.
    2. Blend the fruit. Combine the watermelon, lime juice, and sugar in a blender, then puree the watermelon until it's totally smooth. It should only take a minute or two.If you want, you can strain the watermelon juice through a fine mesh strainer. It's not very pulpy though, so it's not 100% necessary.
    3. Fill the popsicle molds. Add the puree to the molds, leaving about a ½-inch of space at the top. My popsicle molds hold ⅓ cup each, so I got eight popsicles out of this recipe. Depending on the size of your molds, you may get more or less pops. If you have a little bit of leftover juice, drink it. It's so delicious!
    4. Freeze the popsicles. Transfer the popsicles to your freezer, then freeze them overnight or until they're solid. It will probably take at least four hours.

    Ingredients

    • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
    • 1 tablespoon lime juice
    • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional)

    Equipment

    • Popsicle Molds

    Instructions

    • Place watermelon, lime juice, and sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth.
    • Transfer mixture to popsicle molds.
    • Freeze popsicles until sold, about 4 hours.
    • Remove popsicles from molds and eat. Enjoy!

    Notes

    My popsicle molds hold about ⅓ cup liquid, and this recipe yielded 8 popsicles. Depending on the size of your popsicle molds, you may get more or less popsicles.
    When deciding whether (or not) to add sugar, keep in mind that the pops will taste less sweet once frozen.

    Is there a way to keep the liquid from separating? My Popsicles ended up pulpy one half and watery on the other.

    Hi Alex! I'd recommend straining out the pulp using a fine mesh strainer after blending everything together. While straining, press on the pulp gently to extract as much liquid as possible. Hope that helps! 🙂

    I just made these for my kids last weekend. They were gone in a matter of days. The positive is that I didn't object to them having multiple watermelon pops per day since I knew exactly what was in them!
