Celebrate the season with a gorgeous and easy to create Fall Inspired Tablescape! I’m sharing everything you need to create this beautiful table, including Free Printable Leaf Place Cards.
The temperature may still be in the nineties here in Texas (ugh), but fall is almost here! I couldn’t be more excited, and I’m trying to embrace the season even if the weather is not as cool and crisp as I’d like.
One thing that always puts me in a good mood at this time of year is the smell of apples, cinnamon, and pumpkins. These wonderful scents have a way of bringing up memories of seasons past and good times spent with family and friends.
A wonderful scent has the ability to transform a home, especially in fall and around the holidays. I enjoy changing candle fragrances as the seasons change. It’s the perfect way to create warm holiday memories and a joyful atmosphere!
To put myself in the fall spirit, I created a beautiful fall inspired tablescape that’s perfect for entertaining. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait to show you how I created it.
I absolutely love burning candles at this time of year (no fall inspired tablescape is complete without them), but any old candle won’t do. So I stopped by Walmart to check out the true to life, seasonal fragrances from “American Home™ by Yankee Candle®”. This exclusive collection brings the quality of this trusted and beloved brand to Walmart.
Personally, there isn’t much I enjoy more than spending a little time in the candle aisle. And with tempting fragrances like Sugar Coated Cinnamon, Fresh Balsam Fir, and Sweet & Salty Caramel, it was hard to choose a favorite … so I had to pick two!
I fell in love with Homemade Pumpkin Pie right away. It smells just like a slice of my fave fall pie, and I got a big jar to enjoy in my living room all season long. I surrounded this yummy-smelling candle with a few mini pumpkins for a cute fall vignette.
“American Home™ by Yankee Candle®” brand offers so many high quality, rich fragrances that finding the perfect one for my fall inspired tablescape was a little more difficult. After lots of debate (with myself … ha), I finally chose Warm & Happy Home. Mmm! The fragrance is amazing; exactly how I want my apartment to smell this fall!
With autumn as my guide, I knew that I wanted my fall inspired tablescape to include seasonal colors like gold and yellow, but I also wanted it to be bright. I started by searching my stash for anything white, like vases and a few birch stumps, that might work.
Although I tried to use mostly items I already owned, I couldn’t resist picking up a few white pumpkins and a set of pumpkin salt and pepper shakers. Inexpensive and colorful accessories, including sparkly leaves, mini pumpkins, and sunflowers, as well as the Warm & Happy Home candles, were selected to add contrast to the whites.
I used a neutral tablecloth to cover the table and added a burlap table runner that I made last year for a small rustic touch. Next, I set the table so I could decorate around the place settings.
Normally, I prefer to use fresh flowers, but the faded colors of these pretty sunflowers created exactly the look I wanted. Their centers also had the slightest bit of rosy color that tied in perfectly with my candles.
After adding the flowers, I scattered a few sparkly leaves around the table. I placed the larger items, like the birch logs and larger pumpkins next, then filled in the spaces with smaller items. A little zhushing later, and I fell in love with how it looked!
I’m all about casual entertaining, but I also enjoy to adding special elements to my table. So I created a set of pretty leaf place cards to tie my fall inspired tablescape together. (Scroll to the end of the post to download the free printable leaf place cards file!)
After printing out the leaf place cards, I used a brush marker to add names, then used a hole punch and twine to attach the cards to cute mini pumpkins.
These free printable leaf place cards can be used a number of ways (no pumpkins necessary). You could lay them directly on the napkin, wrap the twine tie around your napkins, or put them in a place card holder. Use your creativity!
I love this overhead shot.
“American Home™ by Yankee Candle®” candles offer a clean burn from start to finish. Follow these tips to a tee, and you’ll get the most out of your candles!
- Always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface, keep it out of drafts, and NEVER leave it unattended while lit.
- To ensure the flame doesn’t get too large, trim candle wicks to 1/8-inch before burning your candles.
- Each time you burn the candle, allow the entire top layer to become a fragrant pool of liquid wax, and you’ll get the biggest, boldest fragrance possible.
- When 1/2-inch of the wax remains, it’s time to let your candle go. That’s always a sad day for me, but of course, it also means more new candles!
- Save the candle jars for another use (storage, vases, etc.). You can easily remove any leftover wax by placing the jar in your freezer. Once it’s cold, the wax will have contracted and should pop out easily.
Make sure to stop by Walmart to check out their wonderful selection of high quality, rich, seasonal “American Home™ by Yankee Candle®” fragrances!
