My husband travels for work, so it's rare that he's home during the week. Which means that weekends are the perfect time for us to reconnect and catch up!
Although we love going out, sometimes there's nothing better than spending a romantic night at home. I love any chance to relax together after a long week, and all it takes for a memorable night is a fun activity and delicious food and drink.
Joel and I recently had a fun date night at home, and it was the perfect way to kick off the weekend. Our night was spent chatting and laughing over a delicious meal, and the best part was there was no cooking involved. Yes!
Keep reading to learn how you can recreate my sushi date night, plus I'm sharing 40 more at home date night ideas! These unique dates will keep you busy all summer long!
My husband and I love sushi, but it's pretty rare that we go out for it. I'm not sure why, but it never seems to happen. Probably because it's not exactly a cheap date idea ... sushi is expensive!
So last week when I was at Kroger, inspiration struck ... I'd plan a sushi night at home! I found everything I needed for our romantic at home date night, and like I said earlier, there was no cooking involved (unless you count heating up some edamame).
I picked up two kinds of sushi—veggie rolls for me and a mixed box for him. For drinks, I got smartwater and Diet Coke, which paired perfectly with our dinner.
This fun night was such a unique date idea and affordable, too. I don't know about you, but I love cheap date ideas!
To make the meal feel a little more special, I took the sushi, wasabi, and ginger out of the box and arranged everything on a plate. I also put soy sauce in a little dish and heated up the edamame and sprinkled it with a little salt.
Of course, I couldn't forget our drinks! Texas summers are hot, so I served the smartwater over ice, which was so refreshing!
This presentation and fun date idea only took a minute to get ready, but it made it feel like we were eating out.
I'm so glad I found out about this meal deal, and I know I'll be recreating this date night in the future. It was super easy, so delicious, and totally effortless.
I love these kinds of romantic date night ideas ... all fun and no stress.
We spent the evening talking and laughing at our chopstick mishaps. It was perfect. And if you wanted to invite your friends, you could even make this a double date!
