There are so many wonderful things about spring. It's the season of renewal and rejuvenation, fresh produce, and heading outside again after a long winter. What's not to love?

65 Spring Activities
I've included something for everyone on this springtime activities list ... couples or friends, adults and kids, and more. You'll find indoor and outdoor activities, so you can choose something based on the weather. Try one of these spring ideas, or if you're feeling ambitious, attempt to do them if all!
1. Plant a flower bed or garden.
It's the perfect time of year to plan your dream garden! Begin by plotting it out and starting seeds or ordering plants. If you're inexperienced, start small with a container of herbs or with a flower bed that you'll enjoy seeing everyday.
2. Go for a picnic.
Head outside on that first warm, sunny day for a relaxed picnic. Keep it easy by picking up snacks and drinks at the grocery store, or go all out and make a feast from scratch. Check out these Easy Picnic Ideas and these delicious Vegetarian Picnic Recipes for tips!
3. Spend a day spring cleaning.
There's nothing like that fresh, clean feeling that spring brings! So open your windows to let in some fresh air, then spend a day or two deep cleaning all those areas you usually miss. If it seems overwhelming to clean your whole home at once, split up the tasks over a few weeks.
4. Plan a backyard party or BBQ.

5. Enjoy spring cherry blossoms.
There aren't many things more stunning than a delicate pink grove of flowering cherry blossom trees! 6. Take a long walk or go for a hike.
Make the most of the warming weather by taking a long walk or by hiking a favorite trail (or somewhere new). It's the perfect way to soak up the sun and relax at the same time!
7. Visit your local farmer's market.
Celebrate the new growing season by picking up seasonal produce at your local farmer's market! It's a great way to support local farmers, while enjoying fresh, delicious food. Tip: Use the USDA's directory to find a farmer's market near you!
8. Take a walk in the rain.
Spring is known for it's rainy weather. And while it may be tempting to hole up inside on a dreary day, a walk in the rain can be so peaceful and relaxing. Make sure to jump in a few puddles while you're at it! Tip: Need a coat to keep you dry? I have this Joules Raincoat, and it's warm and comes in tons of cute colors. 9. Go rainbow hunting.
Speaking of rainy weather, there's nothing more cheery than seeing a rainbow on a gray day! Make the most of all that rain by walking around your neighborhood or by taking a drive to see if you can spot one.
10. Host a movie night in your backyard.
Gather your family and friends on a warm evening for a movie night under the stars! All you need are some delicious snacks (try my fave Parmesan Pepper Popcorn or these Veggie Pigs in a Blanket), cozy chairs or blankets, and a projector (this affordable projector comes with a 100-inch screen).
11. Plan a camping trip.
Camping season is officially here! Take a weekend trip now, plan your summer vacation, or pitch a tent in your backyard (I LOVED doing this as a kid!). Not sure if you want to rough it? Try glamping or rent a cabin instead.
12. Make a spring craft.
Stuck inside on a cold day? Instead of zoning out in front of the TV, make one of these spring crafts:

Spring is the ideal time to check out the new baby animals at the zoo. My local zoo just debuted a baby warthog ... so cute!
14. Take a spring break vacation.
Let's face it, spring weather can be pretty chilly! The good news is that you don't need to be a student to take a spring break somewhere warm (Puerto Rico and Orange Beach are two of my fave spots!). Trying to save money? Plan a staycation, or take a drive to a nearby town instead.
15. Plan your summer vacation.
Speaking of travel, if you haven't started planning your summer vacation yet, now is the perfect time to start! Tip: You'll generally find the best rates on flights and hotels when booking at least two months in advance. Try using an alert service, like Google Flights or Skyscanner, to find the best rates.
16. Buy yourself flowers.
Nothing says spring quite like flowers, and a colorful bouquet from a local flower shop is sure to brighten up your whole home! If you're on a budget, grab an cheap bunch or two from your supermarket, then put together this easy + inexpensive Flower Arrangement in minutes.
17. Take a walk on the beach.
A beautiful spring day is the perfect time to take a walk on the beach ... you might even have the whole thing to yourself! Pack a blanket and picnic, then stay and soak in the sun.
18. Plan an outdoor scavenger hunt.

19. Attend a baseball game.
It's officially baseball season! Celebrate by getting tickets for opening day or another springtime game. If you're a super dedicated fan, consider taking a trip to Spring Training, which is held in Arizona and Phoenix every year. My husband and I have been going for years ... we love seeing our favorite team, and the warm weather can't be beat!
20. Celebrate Easter.

21. Indulge in a frozen treat.

24. Hold a garage sale.
Are your closets bursting? Hosting a garage sale is the perfect way to make a little extra money, while turning your neglected clothes, books, furniture and other household items into someone else's treasure. Tip: Attract more potential buyers by getting your neighbors involved and holding a community garage sale.
25. Go for a bike ride.
Time to clean the cobwebs off your bike and take it for a springtime spin around your neighborhood! If you're looking for somewhere new to explore, AllTrails is a great resource for finding biking (and hiking) trails near you.
26. Eat outside at your favorite restaurant.
Is there anything more pleasant than dining al fresco? Make the most of the next sunny day by enjoying a meal outside at one of your favorite restaurants.
27. Take a road trip.
One of my favorite Spring Bucket list activities is to spend a day driving around and trying to spot as many Texas bluebonnets as possible ... they're so pretty! But no matter where you live, a road trip is the perfect way to enjoy all the beautiful plants and flowers waking up from winter, whether you're going for a day, weekend, or longer.
28. Celebrate your mom.

29. Treat your dad.

30. Attend an outdoor concert or festival.
An outdoor concert is a wonderful way to see your favorite band while enjoy some gorgeous weather! If music concerts aren't your speed, there are all kinds of outdoor festivals—from art to food to cherry blossoms—that might interest you. 31. Visit your local botanical garden.
Another way to enjoy bountiful blooms is by visiting your local botanical garden! I love visiting mine in different seasons ... the landscape is constantly changing. Tip: Use this search tool to find botanic gardens around the world.
32. Fly a kite.
Flying a kite (like this colorful Rainbow Kite) is a classic springtime activity for a reason ... it's sure to bring a smile to your face, whether you're a kid or an adult!
33. Get a pedicure.
I don't know about you, but I break out my sandals at the first hint of warm weather! Make sure your toes are in tip top shape by treating yourself to a pedicure. Tip: Want to save a little money? Follow the steps in my easy DIY Manicure.
34. Exercise outdoors.
It's the perfect time to recommit to your fitness routine! After being cooped up all winter, breathing in fresh, clean air will give you a much-needed boost of motivation and sense of well-being. Grab a friend for a run or walk, savor the alone time, or join a group fitness class, like yoga or HIIT.
35. Decorate your home for spring.
Giving your home a seasonal update is an easy way to freshen up your space. You don't need to spend a lot of money either ... swap out the decorative pillows on your couch, buy a new plants or two, or change the flannel sheets on your bed for crisp cotton. Flea markets and thrift stores are great places to find one-of-a-kind decor items at an affordable price. Here are some other ideas to try:

36. Attend a flower festival.
Spring is the season for all different kinds of flower festivals ... from tulips to wildflowers and everything in between! A few of my favorites are Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum, the Portland Rose Festival, and Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (or pretty much any Cherry Blossom Festival).
37. Go berry picking.
Celebrate the start of berry season by heading to your local farm! Strawberries and cherries are two popular spring fruits, and they're even tastier when you pick them yourself. Depending on where you live, other fruits may be in season, too.
38. Plan a Star Wars-themed day.
In case you didn't know, May 4th is Star Wars Day! If you're a fan, it's the perfect time to enjoy a movie marathon with your family or maybe even plan a party (the Star Wars website has lots of fun ideas). However you celebrate, May the fourth be with you!
39. Take a gardening or flower arranging class.
Want to plant an epic garden, but not sure where to start? Consider taking a gardening class. It's a great way to master basic (or advanced) skills, as well as learn what plants work best in your region. Is your thumb more black than green? Take a flower arranging class instead. It's a super fun (and useful) skill that you can use year round.
40. Celebrate Earth Day.
April 22nd is Earth Day, and it's marked by over a billion people every year! Visit the Earth Day website to learn how you and your community can get involved, or try making a few small, sustainable changes to your daily habits (such as choosing reusable containers instead of single use plastics, switching to LED lightbulbs, and starting a compost pile) that will add up over time.
41. Grab dinner from a food truck.
There's something about food trucks that makes eating outside extra exciting! Food trucks can often be found in parks, farmer's markets, and other public spaces ... use this Street Food Finder to locate a truck near you!
42. Visit a state or national park.
Spring is the perfect time to visit state and national parks. Everything is fresh, green, and blooming, and crowds are often much smaller than in summer. Check out my National Parks Guide to find a nearby park!
43. Explore a new neighborhood.
When is the last time you stepped outside your comfort zone and visited a new neighborhood? Break up with your usual routine, and spend an afternoon (or a day) exploring a new-to-you area.
44. Make lemonade.
Craving a shot of pure sunshine? Treat yourself to a glass of homemade lemonade ... it's so much easier to make than you'd ever think! Here are a few recipes to temp you:

45. Enjoy a sunset on your porch.

46. Catch a sunrise.
When's the last time you saw the sun rise? The closer we get to summer, the earlier the sun will rise, making spring the perfect (not too early) time to catch one!
47. Sign up for a 5K or marathon.
Trying to start running (or walking) more often? Signing up for an event, like a 5K or a marathon (or somewhere in between), is a great motivator. Search for a training program online to keep you on track with your goal.
48. Celebrate Juneteenth.
Juneteenth, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S., officially became a national holiday in 2021. A great way to observe the holiday, is to learning how you can continue the fight for social justice and equal opportunity.
49. Cook a meal featuring spring produce.
Show off all that fresh spring produce with a special seasonal meal! You can go all out and host a dinner party or simply create a delish weeknight meal. Here are a few recipes to try:

May Day is an ancient European festival typically held on May 1, about halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. Celebrations vary, but they often involve gathering wildflowers, weaving flower crowns, and setting up a Maypole.
52. Participate in a local cleanup or planting event.
Joining a cleanup or planting event is a great way to get involved in your community. Look for events on local websites, such as volunteer groups (like "Friends of Central Park") or parks and recreation websites.
53. Trick someone on April Fool's Day.

54. Go bird watching.

Capture the changing season by grabbing your camera (or camera phone) and heading outside! Try capturing the whole landscape, then move closer so you don't miss any details (like blooming flowers).

58. Make strawberry shortcake.
Homemade strawberry shortcake made with freshly picked berries is one of the best spring desserts! Make your favorite recipe or try these delicious Mini Strawberry Shortcakes (or one of these other strawberry recipes).
59. Gather friends and family for Passover.
Passover is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. Gather with your friends and family for a celebration, or learn more about Passover history and traditions.
60. Set up a bird feeder.
Setting up a bird feeder is an easy way to provide a consistent source of food for wild birds, and it's a great source of (almost) free entertainment!
61. Start a Little Free Library.
If you're ever wanted to set up a Little Free Library, spring is a wonderful time to do it! These wooden boxes, which are often shaped like a house, are a great way to share books you've read, and your neighbors can leave a book of their own or pick up a book for free, too. If you're handy, you can make one yourself, or you can buy a pre-made library (this sign is super cute, too!).
62. Stay up late and stargaze.

63. Go mini golfing.
Blow off some steam by heading to a mini golf course! It's the perfect low-key way to have some good old-fashioned fun and maybe even get a little competitive!
64. Create a spring playlist.
