    Ginnie's Take

I been drinking less lately, but I always get a little sad when my friends are sipping fun cocktails, and I'm stuck drinking soda. Thankfully, that's an easy problem to fix (at least at home). So with the holidays right around the corner, I've been experimenting with festive mocktails. Whether you don't drink or you're just skipping alcohol for the night, you're going to LOVE this Apple Cider Mocktail!

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • Delicious Flavor - This refreshing drink has a bright, gingery apple flavor that you won't be able to resist, and it looks just like a fancy drink you'd get at a cocktail bar.
    • Easy to Make - The recipe uses easy to find ingredients, it's super simple to make, and it's ready in minutes.
    • Fun + Festive - This gorgeous Fall Mocktail is a wonderful non alcoholic drink for relaxing after a long day or during a lazy autumn weekend. And of course, it's perfect for all your fall events, parties, and occasions, like Thanksgiving and even Christmas!

    Ingredients

This Apple Mocktail uses basic, easy to find ingredients! Here's what you'll need:

    • Cider - Sparkling apple cider gives this drink a fun, celebratory vibe. I used (and would recommend) Martinelli's Sparkling Cider, which is easy to find in most grocery stores or online.
    • Ginger Beer - Apple cider and ginger beer taste great together! The ginger beer adds a spicy element which contrasts nicely with the sweet cider.
    • Pomegranate Juice - You'll add a bit of pomegranate juice, which adds a touch of tangy flavor and gives the drink a lovely blush color. Buy it in any store, or make this Homemade Pomegranate Juice!
    • Vinegar - This drink's secret ingredient is apple cider vinegar! The vinegar adds acidity and balances the sweetness. Its zippy flavor also gives the drink more of a cocktail vibe (versus just a mixture of juices). If you prefer a sweeter drink, feel free to use less vinegar or leave it out.
    • Garnish - Serve the drink with a slice of fresh apple and a sprig of rosemary for a fancy finishing touch.

    You'll Also Need

To make the drink, you'll need a tall glass, such as a highball (or Tom Collins) glass. You won't need any special bar tools, although a cocktail mixing spoon comes in handy, but you will need a couple measuring spoons and a small liquid measuring cup.

How to Make an Apple Cider Mocktail

This non alcoholic cider drink couldn't be easier to prepare! You'll find a detailed recipe card below, but here's an overview of the steps:

    1. Combine ginger beer + vinegar. Start by filling your glass about ¾-full with ice. Then add ginger beer and apple cider vinegar.
    2. Add pomegrante juice. Next, you'll add the pomegranate juice, then mix well.
    3. Top with sparkling cider. Add the sparkling apple cider next, then stir everything together.
    4. Garnish. Fill the remaining space in the glass with ice, then garnish the drink with a slice of apple and a sprig of rosemary. Cheers!

Time to enjoy your refreshing Sparkling Apple Cider Mocktail. Doesn't it look beautiful? And trust me, it tastes even more delicious than it looks!

    Variations

Want to change things up a bit? Here are a few ideas to try:

    • Apple Cider - If you can't find sparkling apple cider, feel free to use regular cider.
    • Cranberry Juice - Replace the pomegranate juice with cranberry juice.
    • Sweeter - Skip the apple cider vinegar, or use less.
    • Citrus - Swap out the apple cider vinegar for fresh lemon or lime juice.
    • Garnish - Instead of apple slices and rosemary, garnish the drink with pomegranate seeds, a sprig of thyme, dried apple slices, a citrus twist, or a cinnamon stick.

    Serving Suggestions

Pair this easy Apple Mocktail with a tasty appetizer, and you have a party! To stay on a fall theme, serve it with this Cranberry Jalapeño Dip or this Puff Pastry Baked Brie. The drink would also be delicious paired with fancy bites, like these Mini Cheese Tarts or this gorgeous Pesto Tarte Soleil (puff pastry sun tart).

Classic chips and dips, like this Caramelized Onion Dip, Whipped Goat Cheese, or Dill Dip, are great options, too. To offset the drink's sweetness, serve it with salty + savory bites, such as these Pigs in a Blanket (you'll love this easy vegan recipe!), Sweet and Spicy Snack Mix, or these Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese.
