    Ingredients

This recipe is made with three ingredients you can find in any grocery store! Here's what you'll need:

    • Mayo - Grab your favorite vegan mayonnaise. I really like Hellman's Plant Based Mayo. It tastes exactly like regular mayonnaise to me.
    • Mustard - This sauce gets its zippy flavor from Dijon mustard. I used Grey Poupon, but Maille and Edmond Fallot are great choices, too.
    • Maple Syrup - Maple syrup is an excellent plant based substitute for honey (which is produced by bees, and therefore, not vegan). It provides the perfect amount of sweetness for this easy Maple Mustard Sauce recipe!

This tasty sauce is vegetarian and vegan friendly, as well as dairy free, nut free, and gluten free. And it's so delicious that everyone at your table will enjoy it, whether they follow one of these diets or not!

    Variations

You can easily customize this Vegan Honey Mustard recipe, depending on what's in your cupboard. Here are some ideas to try:

    • Mustard - Use yellow or brown mustard instead of Dijon, or do a mustard combo.
    • Sweetener - Swap out the maple syrup for agave, date syrup, or another sweetener of your choice.
    • Spicy - Stir in a dash or cayenne or a few drops of hot sauce.
    • Garlic - Mix in some garlic powder for another layer of flavor.
    • Extra Tangy - Add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar.
A spoon filled with the dressing held over a small bowl.

This Vegan Honey Mustard Sauce is super versatile! Here are a few ways to use it:

    • Salad Dressing - Toss it with crisp lettuce and crunchy veggies for an irresistible salad! It would pair wonderfully with this Kale and Apple Salad and this Easy Garden Salad.
    • Dipping Sauce - Serve it as a dip with crackers, chips, and veggies, or use it as a dipping sauce for these Mummy Hot Dogs, Vegan Pigs in a Blanket, veggie nuggets, Sweet Potato Fries, soft pretzels, and more.
    • Sandwiches + Wraps - Spread the tangy sauce on your fave sandwiches and wraps, like this Hummus Sandwich or these Veggie Wraps!
    • Bowls - Use it as a sauce for veggie and grain bowls for an extra pop of flavor.
    • Vegetables - Drizzle over sautéed, roasted, or grilled veggies.
