My husband works in the entertainment industry, so not surprisingly, we are huge movie fans (it's definitely our favorite date night activity). I always get a little excited at this time of year, because it's officially award show season!
If you're reading this, then I'm guessing you're a movie lover, too. And this free printable 2022 Oscar ballot was created with you in mind! I love making this annual freebie, and this year you'll find two options: a one-page ballot, and a fun multi-page ballot.
Make sure to let me know which version you prefer in the comments. That way, I'll know for next year!
About the Ballot
You'll find every nominated movie, actor, and award category on this Oscar nominations list! The multi-page version even has an extra page, where you can keep tabs on your red carpet faves, like best/worst dressed, funniest speech, craziest moment, and more.
This printable 2022 Oscar Ballot is the BEST way to keep track of every movie you need to watch now, and to track your Oscar picks during the actual awards show on Sunday, March 27. It's sure to make viewing the awards even more fun, and best of all, it's totally FREE!
I'm also sharing below how to turn the ballot into a scorecard and where to stream the nominated movies. Plus, some creative party decorations and food ideas to Oscar Night even more special ... whether you're planning a party or hanging out in your pjs!

How to Use the Ballot as a Scorecard
It's always fun to predict which nominee you think will win each category ... then see if your guesses actually pan out! And these ballots have room to mark your winner predictions ahead of time.
Once the Academy Awards start, you can use the ballot as a scorecard. Keep track of the winners in each category, then assign points for each of the categories you guess correctly. I'd suggest to following points spread:
- Best Picture = 10 points
- Best Actor / Actress = 5 points
- Everything Else = 2 points
If you're watching the show with a group, then whoever winds up with the most points at the end of the night wins! You could even give the winner a small award, like a bottle of wine, movie trivia game or book, or my favorite idea: one of these gold award trophies!

Assembling the Ballots
If you're using the one page ballot, you can simply print it out. For the multi-page ballot, I like to separate the pages, then tie them together with a little ribbon ... it looks super festive for a party, yet it's very easy to do. Keep reading to learn how to do it!
Supplies
- Oscar Ballot Printable (find it at the end of this post)
- cardstock
- self-healing mat
- metal-edge ruler
- utility knife
- hole punch
- ½ to ⅝-inch wide ribbon - Grosgrain or another thicker, fray-resistant ribbon works best for this (I used this striped ribbon).
- scissors
Tip: I've used many methods for putting these ballots together over the years. For more inspo, check out my ideas from 2015 through 2021 here ... this layered look from 2017 is my fave!
Directions
It couldn't be easier to assemble these printable templates! Here's how to do it step-by-step:
- Cut ballots in half. Download the ballot PDF (at the end of this post), then print it on cardstock (at FULL SIZE). Then using your self-healing mat, ruler, and utility knife, cut the ballots in half (FYI: they're 11-inches long, so the center is 5.5-inches). I usually cut two to three pages at a time, depending on how thick the paper is.
- Punch holes in pages. Make a hole in the top-center of each page, about halfway between from the edge and the text, using your hole punch. You can measure the ballots to find the exact center or just eye-ball it, but do make sure that the holes on all the pages line up. I recommend punching the first page, then using that hole as a guide for the rest.
- Prep ribbon. Cut an eight-inch piece of ribbon. Fold the ribbon in half, then pull the raw ends of the ribbon through the hole, from the back of the ballots toward the front (roll the ribbon, if necessary to fit). When you're done, you should have a loop of ribbon on the back side of the ballot.
- Pull ribbon ends through loop. Pass the raw ends of the ribbon through the loop and pull tight, securing the ribbon in place. At this point, you can futz around with the ribbon a bit to get it to lay right.
- Trim ribbon. Finally, trim the ribbon ends using your scissors. I cut the ends on an angle pointing toward the center, but you could cut them in the same direction if you prefer.
And that's really all there is to it. Pretty easy, right? The best thing about attaching the cards like this is that everything stays in order, and you don't have to worry about losing any of the pages.
Before the show starts, don't forget to gather some pens. Then, settle in for a fun evening!
